On Sunday, the 4th of August, the parish joyfully celebrated Vianney Sunday, honouring St. John Marie Vianney, the patron saint of priests, and expressing our deep gratitude to our own priests for their dedication and service.
The day began with a solemn Mass at 9:30 AM, attended by all Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) members, along with parishioners of our parish. The Mass was a beautiful expression of our faith and unity, and it was a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of St. John Marie Vianney. Before the final blessing of the Mass, a special moment was set aside to felicitate our priests. Each priest was presented with a floral bouquet and card as a token of our appreciation for their tireless efforts in guiding and supporting our parish. This gesture was warmly received and highlighted the strong bond between our priests and the parishioners.
After the Mass, the PPC members convened for a meeting in the community hall. The meeting gave an opportunity to discuss ongoing parish activities, upcoming events, and ways to further support our priests and parish initiatives. Following the PPC meeting, a cake-cutting ceremony was held in the Community Hall, where all priests joined in. This joyful occasion also included the felicitation of both priests and religious sisters, who were presented with thoughtful gifts as a mark of our gratitude for their service to the Church and our parish. The celebration concluded with a communal lunch prepared by the PPC members. The meal provided a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, allowing the PPC members to share in the joy of the day and express their personal thanks to the priests and religious sisters.
The Vianney Sunday celebration was a resounding success, filled with faith, fellowship, and gratitude. The event not only honoured our priests and religious sisters but also strengthened the sense of community within our parish. We look forward to continuing this tradition and finding more ways to support and appreciate those who serve us in ministry.
