Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time – Year A

4th August – Feast of St. John Marie Vianney
6th August – Feast of the Transfiguration of The Lord

  1. 07th August is the First Friday of the month. Holy Half Hour will be conducted at 6:30pm by Divine Mercy Group, followed by Mass at 7 pm.
  2. 9th August is celebrated as Vianney Sunday in honour of St. John Marie Vianney, patron saint of the Diocesan Priests. The collection made at all Masses on this Sunday will be sent for the expenses of the Clergy home and the sick and retired priest. Kindly note there will be no separate basket collection. Please be generous.
  3. The Marian Morning Stars (Sunday School) are celebrating Parents, Grandparents and Vianney Day on Sunday 9th August, with a special programme at 11:00 am in the College Hall. Entry coupons will be available at the Parish office and with the Sunday school teachers @ Rs. 200/- per person. All are invited.
  4. Novena in honour of Our Lady of Assumption, organised by the Ladies Sodality begins on 06th August at 6:00 pm from Monday to Saturday and at 5:15 pm on Sunday in the church.
    The Ladies Sodality is organising the Triduum Masses in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Assumption on 12th & 13th August in Marathi and on 14th August in English at 5:30 pm. The Feast Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on 15th August.
  5. 15th August is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
    Masses on Saturday, 15th August, will be in Marathi at 7am and in English at 8:15 am, 9:30 am and 7:00pm.
    The evening 7:00 pm Mass on Saturday 15th August, will be celebrated as the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This will not be a Sunday Mass.
  6. Marian FAM in collaboration with the Sports Committee is organising ‘Baarish Hungama 2026’ on 15th August from 10:30 am onwards on the Church Ground. For further details contact the Marian FAM members at the church porch.
  7. The Discipleship Program for the year 2026-2027 will commence from Sunday, 16th August at St. Anthony’s School, Vakola. For further details look up the poster put on the Notice Board.
  8. OCWF Envelopes for the month of August will be distributed today. Please drop your envelopes duly filled with all details, in the box marked “OLEP Community Welfare Fund”.
  9. Last Sunday’s collection amounted to Rs. 97,725 /-. God bless you all for your generosity.
