‘A truly GREAT PRIEST is HARD to find, DIFFICULT to PART with &
IMPOSSIBLE to FORGET.’

Farewell Fr. Joshua D’souza

The team of Parish Fathers, Sisters of both Congregations and Parishioners, take this opportunity to thank Fr. Joshua, who has served our parish for the past 3 years, not only as a devoted priest but also as an inspiring Principal of St. Mary’s High School and Junior College. In him, we witnessed a rare and beautiful harmony of Faith and Education, Spirituality and Discipline, Compassion and Leadership.

The Parish Feast of 2024 brought back a revival of our parish vision statement.

Fr. Joshua beautifully executed the event and gave all of us something to cherish – Our Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move.

Fr. Joshua often reminded us that preaching without practising is incomplete. With the Lenten OLEP Green Initiative in 2025, Fr. Joshua got the whole parish involved in donating reusable clothes, kitchen ware etc. These items were put on sale and also given out free of cost, which benefitted many people.

Fr. Joshua, through his homilies and actions, has taught practical lessons that no book could contain – lessons of integrity, service, humility, perseverance and common sense and these will remain in the hearts of us all.

Fr. Joshua, shares an immense love for sports, especially football and as priest in charge of the parish Sports Committee, he was successful in uniting the Parish in the spirit of sportsmanship. For the Parish feast 2026, we witnessed Fr. Joshua encouraging unity through competition and discovering talent beyond potential.

Dear Father Joshua, the entire parish community, is thankful to you for your selfless service, your tireless efforts, and your unwavering commitment. Thank you for the countless ways you have ministered to our community. Your compassionate leadership, inspiring homilies, and prayers have left a lasting impact on our hearts. We will miss you immensely.

Fr. Joshua as you move on to a new parish, we are sad at your departure, but have deep gratitude for the years you have given our Parish. We are confident that wherever you go, lives will be touched, minds will be shaped, and hearts will be drawn closer to God, just as you did here. We wish you abundant blessings in your new assignment in St. Francis Xavier’s Church, Vile Parle. We assure you of our prayers as you continue your journey of service in the vineyard of the Lord.
