Sacrament of Holy Eucharist (First Holy Communion)
The First Holy Communion Mass, celebrated on 15th February 2026, was a beautiful and deeply devotional occasion, as 27 children dressed in white symbolizing purity of heart and adorned with capes joyfully received the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist for the first time.
The children prepared themselves over 8 months through Sunday school. During this formation period, they learned about the real presence of Christ at the Eucharist, the importance of Mass and the all-encompassing forgiveness of our loving Father in Heaven through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
The celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Rev. Fr. John Lopes, Fr. Joshua D’souza, Fr. Cliffy Fernandes, Fr. Amol Thopelya and Fr. Lawrence made it truly special and meaningful for the little ones. The theme of the Eucharist, ‘Children of God, Being Fed with Love,’ was beautifully reflected throughout the liturgy. The children joyfully participated in the Eucharist, singing with the choir and celebrated their joy at receiving Jesus through a graceful Thanksgiving Dance.
As Fr. John beautifully reflected — 27 children, just like the 27 books of the New Testament — each unique, each precious, each carrying the light of Christ. May God bless every child abundantly as they shine as His light in the world.
